I fish below the chain of rocks bridge in granite city li. there is a sandy part just below the damn. Is that the sandy bottom im looking for or should I be looking for something else. Sure, give that sand bar a shot, especially at night. Bait fish will hang around a fairly shallow sand bar without a lot of current. I believe they do this because the sand holds the heat and the water is a tad warmer. Three to four feet of water is enough to invite any hungry predator. If you can find a drop off of about 2ft. or more connected to your sand bar, I'd fish right there.
