Have you ever struggled trying to hook a channel cat on a digital scale weigh hook? The darn things are flopping and wiggling and the hook just won't grab anywhere and you are trying to not hurt the fish. You end up having the fish out of the water for 5 to 10 minutes trying to get him weighed and he is pretty beat up before you are done.

Here is a quick and simple solution. Throw several Hefty 13 gallon Handletie Trash Bags in your cat tackle bag. The bags weigh next to nothing so they don't compromise the weigh in and they are plenty big and strong enough to hold a good size channel cat - just slide the handles of the bag over the digital scale hook and you can get a quick and easy weight. They don't seem to struggle much in the bag and you can get a quick weight, snap a quick photo and get them back in the water. Catch, Photo, Release (CPR). If the bag is slimed up by the end of the day, just throw it in the trash and have another clean one ready for your next fishing trip.
