Could it be possible for a Flathead catfish to breed with a Channel catfish ?
read these posts, maybe theyll help ya. and, IMHO, i think theyre a combination of malnutrition and breeding kinda hard. although they do have very similar body styles and characteristics of crossbred flatties and channels.
I don,t know if it,s genetically possible, but their spawning temperatures are so far apart,I think that alone would keep em from crossbreeding.
I don't know man I ate a Beefalo burger which is a cross of Buffalo and Cow so who knows.
Bigger flatheads are most likely to eat a channel cat
According to the hunting and fishing library YES flats can breed with channels
I don't think so!
They are totally a different species of catfish.
They do interbreed blues and channels though.

This would be interesting to know. I think its got its possibility.oooh:
heck after a couple beers i'm sure a flatty wouldn't turn down a channel cat :smile2:
