I am new to catfishing and was using a 9' Tica rocket with an Abu rocket. I saw a big catfish caught nearby to me, that I later found out was a channel catfish. With the current there I need to use at least a 4 oz pyramid sinker. One of the things that I noticed was the rod tip is a bit stiff, which means that I can not see the bite. What is an ideal rod for casting 4 oz with a casting reel and I guess has slow action at the tip?

    Thanks

Welcome to the site, it's great. And those rods should work fine, even in heavy current, you'll know if a cat picks it up, big or small one. When they get in that current, that rod will bend quite a bit more then the current makes it bend.
