a friend of mine bought a farm with a lake on it. there are some nice catfish in it but some are dying and looks like they have a green moss growing on them .we got about 10 today out of there that have died around 2 to 8 pounds each some one told us to put salt in water

The lake might have turned over or there is a virus goin around. You might have someone come look at it. I dont know if I would eat them.

i definitely wouldnt eat them yet. but, the problem could also be as simple as low oxygen levels in the pond. we used to back our bush-hog down into the pond and aggitate the water in the summer time to keep the levels high.
hope it helps! still find a biologist to look though.

I have no idea what the problem is but I'm satisfied it's not low oxygen level. I would get someone in there quick to diagnose the problem.
