tell em to look at the lower jaw too. a flathead has an underbite. channel has overbite. and tails are way different. flatheads are flat channels are forked.

I have another question. Is there any way to sex a catfish? With it being spring I would rather not keep females that are full of eggs? Just wondered if anyone had an idea.

    Thanks.

As for the Channels, the male is not the always with the large head i've sexed some that had this look to them a found that they were in fact females.
