    Catfish/Carp Corn Bait
    Ingredients:
    Can of whole corn
    Vanilla extract

    Preparation:
Drain the water from the can of corn, and leave only about 5 percent water in the can.
Pour enough vanilla in the can until the corn turns a brownish-yellow color (use your own judgement).
Shake the can, and let the vanilla absorb into the corn.
Depending on your hook, I personally use a #2 treble hook, you should be able to slide on about 4 or
5 good sized pieces of corn.

    Anise Carp Bait
    Ingredients:
    7 slices white bread-remove crusts
    1 raw egg
    1 raw carrot-shaved
    1 cap anise
    flour

    Preparation:
Break up bread into 2 inch pieces
    Add egg, carrot, and anise
    Hand mix
    Refrigerate overnight
    Next day, lightly flour
Make small dough balls (keep in plastic bag sealed to prevent drying out).

    Simple Dough Bait
    Ingredients:
    1 cup flour
    1 cup corn meal
    1 cup water
Vanilla extract (as much as desired)

    Preparation:
Put the corn meal and flour into a bowl.
Put the water into a pot and add as much vanilla flavor as you want.
After the water begins to boil add mixture of flour and corn meal, let absorb the water then take the
    pot off the heat.
Knead and mush the mixture until dough is thick enough to stay on your hook.
Put into a ziploc baggie after it cools.

    Wheaties
    vanilla extract
    wheat germ

    Ingredients:
    Brown sugar
    Vanilla Extract
Bag of fresh chicken breasts or some other kind of meat with plentiful blood
Piece of plywood or some other container.

    Preparation:
First start off by pouring your blood onto your container (make sure its a flat container.)
Then sprinkle a thick layer of brown sugar onto your blood bait.
Let the blood dry up and become crusty and dry.
Pour your bottle of vanilla extract onto the blood bait covering as much as possible.
Once again sprinkle a thick layer of brown sugar onto the blood bait again, then using a fork punch
    holes all over the bait.
Remove your bait from the plywood or container and let that side dry if necessary, then cut into 3/4 of
an inch by 3/4 of an inch squares or something appropriate for the hook you use.

Mix the dry ingredients in a separate bowl and add to the liver mixture a little at a time until you have a
    stiff paste.
Add more egg or semolina to get the right consistency. Roll the mix into balls and boil for 2-6 minutes
(the longer they are boiled, the harder the baits will be).
Lay the baits out on old towels or paper and dry for a least 6 hrs.

We always use spinach and corn flakes. 1 box of cornflakes, 2 cans of spinach. Just take the kroger, walmart, or whatever place you bought thems bag and mix together on site. Chill for a little bit. Put it on the hook and Get busy catching carp and channels. Hope this helps!

Yes, thanks for all these recipes. I'm not much of a homemade doughball fishermen because they are so smelly and messy. The only exception is Jell-O baits for carp. But I especially liked the last recipe on the list, the catfish cheese bait. I will try that one. It's not too smelly and probably effective.

THANKS!!!! I think I just heard Better Crocker roll over in her grave...LMAO Reps for the time spend posting all those. Here's a channel cat getter I use often:

    2 tubs chicken livers
    4 cans sardines
1 pound stinky cheese of some kind
    1 large jar peanut butter
    Flour
    1/2 cup sea salt

liquify the livers and sardines in a blender.

melt the cheese and peanut butter in a pot. Once melted and thin add the pulverized livers, sardines and sea salt. Add enough flour to thiicken. Let cool to room temp and SLOWLY add shreaded cottonballs to make it a fiber bait.

I have used the Buffalo Bait (cottonseed meal, black pepper and chocolate syrup) It works. You need to use it with a hair rig.
