well you gotta give it to the man, he has a hobby that he loves. i had snappin turtle soup once. my dad made it after he came home with one that would barely fit in a 5 gallon bucket. best soup i ever had.
:big_smile:I was taught how to turtle hunt when i was 12 years old ,before that i got to go and help put them in the sack.Uncles and dad are to old now and i only go a few times a year just so i dont become one of the guys at the legion saying i used to do that LOL.It really isnt that hard or dangerous here in IL. and Iowa, now where there are poison snakes thats different. You go slow and a turtle has points on the back end and thee shell goes up toward front end also most of the time they are pointed up creek.Go slow and you wont get bit and if you do they let go but when you jerk the tip of there jaw will cut you bad not the bite. We got 28 this year best we have did in a long time teaching son inlaw how to do it. John
