Catching shad from the bank

    Anybody here had any success catching shad from the bank with cast net. And if yes? Where? Creeks and coves? Need advice from bank.

    Here in Arkansas they seem to run the swift water along the riprap below dams/powerhouses. Concrete walls are a favorite.

    Try boat ramps and docks with lights in the early morning or late night. The shad are attracted to the light.

    Get the most of mine around boat ramps ,docks and shallow back waters of the river. seem this time of year they are coming more around the boat ramp walk ways.Least in my area.

    Current and Concrete as about everyone else has said.
    If the Algae bloom is still on they will concentrate under a slack water pool but never far from Deeper water and somewhere to hide.
