Do flathead bite on live bait better than other baits?

my biggest flathead was 55lbs and caught it on a bream head and my buddy has caught some nice ones on cut bait and chicken livers. i've had 40 lb test break in flathead infested waters not saying it couldn't have been a big blue or even a gar on the hit ive hooked a lot of big fish on cut eel also

Ive caught flatties on both live bluegill and cut up blue gill. I think that the flatties will definately prefer live bait though.

Ive caught a couple of nice flatheads on cut skipjack.I think different things factor into "what is the best bait".Weather-water level-time of year all play roles in what fish are feeding on.If its in their path(live or cut)blue gill, shad, skipjack all should work fine.

Hell yeah they LOVE live bait. I hear that small gills work great. along with live shad, chub, and other baitfish.
