What kind of bait is used to catch a carp in a lake? I have caught plenty of carp in ponds using rice, grits, millet but in the lake i cant seem to catch one. Wanted to try to catch a few for bait. Any tips on bait would be great.

the guys here and around Jordan use dough bait bought and homemade and worms one guy even flyfishes for them. I have tried to catch some but without any luck yet. One of the guys is going to show me his hole due to the fact there are a lot of carp there and he doesn't like em.

Wheatie Balls and Corn are great Carp bait. Good luck when you target them.
