Max(SkiMax) and I hit the river today for some catting and bait getting. We started out trying to get shad at the marina and only managed 4 small ones and a big sucker. I figured the day was ruined, but we headed for the discharge anyway. We setup at the end of the wall and casted a few random rods out for cats. Also started casting for skips and did fair for them. We tried several spots in the discharge without any luck for cats. So we decided to try for cats out in the river. We tried the first hole and no dice, the second hole I got this nice blue before a barge busted the drift loose on us and ran us out. Here is a couple of pics. Vern

I would say congrats Vern but I think you should be thanking me for allowing you to catch that fish instead. It was gonna bite my pole but I told it to grab yours instead so you would know what a nice fish feels like! :smile2:

Nice catch. What a way to start out a new year.Like JD said every thing is froze around here (except) down at Clarksville Dam.Just might have to try a bit of bank fishin if the temp gets to 60 like they say.
Anyway what did that big Blue weight?
