Rat and I went riding in his submarine this evening. I won't go in to any details until Rat has a chance to post. Then I will post the rest of the story.

Well it started out great....ran up to a bait hole and caught plenty of SkipEye's and asians for bait....then ran down to St Louis, a good 24 miles or better.

On our way down there there was a little bit of debris in the water that incidently gone run over, no big deal really, happens often when there is debris in the river.

Ran down and cruised over a spot I had caught many fish before, marked some but decided I would check out another before setting up on this spot, after all, I had to put our Oklahoma friend on a hawg so I was pulling out all the tricks and spots!

Didn't see much in that other spot, so we ran back up to the other and tossed anchor. Baited up and tossed em out. Not five minutes later, I look down at the floor and see water come gurgling out of the drain holes!!!! I say to Scott, why and where did this water come from???? I asked him, "I put the plug in the boat right??" He said yeah, I'm pretty dang sure you did. So I reach down and feel and sure as hell, the plug is IN the boat. So now I'm thinking, well I don't remember hitting anything that would've punctured the hull, then Scott open the battery hatch door and says, "Bill................um............. it's bubblen' back here." I took a look and immediately knew what it was but hoped like hell it really wasn't happening. I reached down and sure as sh*t, the fitting where the aerator goes through the hull had busted leaving a nice sized hole to accomadate a large quantity of water to come "bubblen" into the damn boat! I get up and tell Scott, "Dude there's a hole in the boat, we've got to go!" I cut my lines, grab a towel and started stuffing it into the hole to plug it up a bit, and I tell Scott, "We got to go!" but he responded, "I got a fish on!" :smile2::smile2: Sure as sh*t, Scott was fighting a decent size fish!!! And for a fraction of a second, I thought...Hell he already has a fish on??!! I will just plug that hole and keep fishin'! Then I somehow came back to reality and started pulling anchor!

Scott somehow broke the fish off, and with the bilge pump workin' double time we started our trek back to the ramp.........54 miles, 5 minutes of fishing, 1 fish. Needless to say, I owe Scott another fishing trip.
