catalpa worms arrive in Spiro!!!

    this is kinda late in the year for em,but they finally got here.My girlfreind and I pick a bunch and are gonna haul them to Eufala tommorrow to give em a go.Just curious if they have shown up at other parts of the state?

    I havent seen them yet. I will look tonight. I have a couple of good spots with catalpa trees. I have had better luck catchin them in Ok though. I love using them for channels and mississippi whites. I sure hope I find some.

    Im in Tulsa with 2 mature catalpa trees in the backyard with no sphynx caterpillars yet. Mabey theyre taking the year off ?

    i have used catalpa worms a lot when i was a kid. we tube fished a lot with them. it is very strange how they would attack a particular tree. not touch another. my dad and i never figured that out. however when yellow hoppers came out we forgot all about the worms. hoppers are 10x better bait than the worms.

    Catalpa trees in OKC are loaded with worms right now, just saw my first one of the year yesterday.
