Cat maxx baitcast reel is the best reel I have ever bought. Great ball bearing action, smooth casting, and wonderful action reeling. Worth the money. 80 bucks.

Never tried one, probably never will. There are alot better reels for the same or less. I also hate supporting bass pros habit of overpricing. I can go to Academy sports and get the same stuff cheaper.

I've got a couple of em and they do cast really well but I think the drag needs to be a little stouter. Overall a pretty good reel:big_smile:. When I bought mine I thought I only paid about 80 bucks for the combo though.

The biggest problem I have with them is that they do not have a big enough line capacity. It would not be a good thing to get "spooled" when the big one strikes!! :eek:oooh:

or for about the price of a 6500 you could get a penn 310....which in my opinion can go toe to toe with an abu 7000 anyday......

I really like my 7000, I two got a cat max for a gift and I really don't care for them either. They set in my garage the only ones I take out are my 7000's.
