That's good info, JW. I know a couple of folks that throw that way, and I've tried it, but can't quite get comfortable with it.
Very good pics and explanation. :smile2:

    Nice job!
That whole net in the mouth thing was not going to be for me!
Especially when I had all my teeth pulled and got false teeth.
I could just see my teeth flying out into the river....
    Yeah, that would be neet!

That was a good post. I've never seen it done that way but it looks like it would work pretty good. I'm gonna give it a try.

Great post. I've been wanting to get a cast net but had no clue how to throw it out there. Very good instructional.

Good instruction there JW, I recently started throwing a castnet and now I loop it over my index finger twice and I get a good throw everytime. Now if I could just get the fish to cooperate! LOL

Nice Post, I Will Use Your Method If I Ever Get The Nerve To Learn To Cast A Cast Net. It Took Me 20 Years To Give A Baitcaster A Try After Quitting When I Was Young Because I Couldn't Cast My Dad's.

Thanks JW. I'm not a big fan of putting the net in my mouth.

Hey JW! Thank you for the informative article. I printed it out so I could take it to Lake Norman with me this afternoon. Maybe I can finally learn to master that dadgum castnet!

I throw mine a similar way, just slightly different...
I dont like to put the thing in my mouth either..

I also noticed, since figuring out this way, I stay drier throwing it.. Thats always been my biggest complaint, getting soaked to the bone then having to sit out in a boat all nite in 50 degree weather heh...No so bad in dog days of summer, but early spring and fall fishing makes your teeth chatter.....

Old JW may have his faults (like wearing womens' clothes) but he can throw a net as good if not better than anyone I've ever seen. Good post JW...W
