I recently showed how I used swivels to make sinkers from old castnet weights and someone mentioned it defeated the idea of a Carolina rig. Although I never meant to try using them in that manner I have been thinking about it and here is my solution. I used some 3/16 vinyl (not rubber) tubing and simply push it in one end of the castnet weight until it butts the other end then cut it off with a pair of dikes. The tubing stays put when casting is not abrasive and reduces the inside diameter so it suits most line. these are not real heavy but should work well in lakes and ponds.
