I like shakespeare rods I haven't tried the Tiger lite yet but I keep reading good things about it. Also you may want to check out one of our sponsers Gator Rods the people that have them love them. I am looking foward to my bday later this year my wife is ordering me one.

I have an 8' MH Ugly stick. The tip isn't real soft, but you can cast really easy and till fling a bait a long way.

I use an All star medium heavy, a Bass Pro Extreme medium heavy, and an American Rodsmith medium fast action tip. They all work fine. Had the tip guide insert come out of my Ugly Stick spinning rod, first time that's ever happened with a rod of any make, but took it back to wally world and got a replacement. Basically, almost any decent rod that you'd use on bass will do the job unless you are into really big catfish.

I have used decent quality Bass equipment for cats in the past, but I find IM6 graphite and above just dont have the action I like. I perfer something in EGlass, but thats just me.

Today I just bought a White Ugly Stick Catfish rod & now I wish I would have done that months or years ago. I really like. I cant see there being another rod for $28 that I'd like much more.

The ugly stik catfish rod is a great rod, soft tip, with enough backbone to get the job done.
