I ain't got this figured out yet. I thought duck season was a few months off. However, whenever I show up at the pond someone yells duck. I notice this happens a few times during the day, usually when I bait my hook. They point and hit the deck? Am I blind or what? Why dont I see the incoming? I also noticed this same behavior in the desert while hunting, when do ducks live in the desert?

Mike,That reminds me of a former boss,Who happened to be a bass tourney fisherman. We allways went fishing after work in the evenings, and he snagged a cattail once anf yanked till it came flying back at him,Hit him in the groin area ,hooks only penetrated his jeans luckily:smile2::smile2::smile2::smile2:

I have the same problem when fishing with the wife. I stand clear a good 15' and anyone closer is diving for cover like their pole is going for a swim or something.
