Recently, I have been catching a carplike roughfish in the Iowa
River which has all of the characteristics of a grass carp...EXCEPT...
the fish has bristle-type teeth in the jaw. What carp has teeth in
    the jaw area?
These fish have their mouth at the bottom like a sucker and
their eyes are set low like a grass carp.
The fish are silvery-white with large scales and have been in
the 7 to 10 pound range. They often jump when hooked and
then stay down like a catfish. Once they see a human, they panic
    and thrash....even when worn-out.

Anyone know of carp with teeth?

If they freak out at loud noises they are brobably asian carp. The buffulo fish maybe what you are catching.

Asian carp have no teeth & fairly small scales (compared to carp) and as far as I know buffalo have no teeth either.
I'm not sure what you're seeing.

Asian flying carp are silver in appearance. A pic would be great, though.

    Is this your fish?

bigmouth buffalo have a pharyngeal tooth patch, big scales, low set eyes, and average about the size that you were catching.

P.S.--They're actually a little more silvery in real life than what they show in the cartoon.
