Carp on a flyrod

    nice carp i caught today on my fly rod with a sinking cricket was fishing for blue gills and i thought id hooked into a nice bass but ended up being a carp

    they look like a blast on fly, taken the rod out a couple times but they always seem sooo spokey that I cant get close enought with a fly rod (doesn't help that I'm not much of a distance caster either)

    thanks ,it was fun it tool me 20 mins to get him in all i had was a 4 lb leader .all i wanted was a bluegill for bait but i got someting 100 times better ive caught two carp on betts crickits they are only about a doller at walmart but the reason ive only caught 2 is most of the time i use a surface popper ir a foam spider for bluegills but today was hot and they wouldn't bite a surface lure caught 3 blue gills in 6 casts with them crickets also

    Nice carp, that had to of been a blast on the fly rod.
