Carolinas Catfish Club Ok folks, its a busy month in the catfish world! Fishing reports from around the area are revealing a great early spring bite. Above average catches are being reported from several lakes in the Catawba chain. All of the Catawba River lakes are at or above their target elevation for this time of year. Recent rains have raised the water levels, but held the water temperature on most lakes to around 56-58 degrees. The upcoming week is bringing highs in the 70s and overnight lows in the 50s, so the water temps may climb above the 60 degree mark by mid week. Our next meeting is scheduled for April the 9th at 7:00pm at the Gander Mountain store in Mooresville, NC. Throwing a Castnet will be the topic this week, and we have a few folks that will demonstrate some different techniques for us. Price, Tomahawk, and Billfish76 are all going to demonstrate for us how they throw a net. I think each of them does it a little differently, so everyone should be able to walk away with a technique that works for them. Here are some upcoming tournaments for April: Teds Hunting and Fishing / Lake Wylie / 4.11.08 Carolina Catmen / Lake Wateree / 4.12.08 NCCATS / Lake Hickory / 4.19.08 We look forward to seeing everyone at the meeting Wednesday!
