I am trying to wrap up the supplies for the electrical on my boat. I am trying to find a good selection of Carling Contura II or Contura III sealed rocker switches with a variety of legends (labels) screen printed on the surface of the switch front. I have most of the switches i would need in the Contura III series. I am considering changing the switch faces tot eh Contura II series to get a lighted legend (label) to help know what switch I turn on a night. I can't do that with the Contura III faces.:sad2:
I found on a Ford Truck forum where a guy printed his our legends (labels) for his switches but he did not give a lot of info. I am not computer savvy enough to figure it out. Any of you computer gurus that could lend a little info on how it would be possible to print out translucent stickers, i sure would appreciate the help.
I will post a picture of the switches I found with the printed legends. They look plenty good enough for me.:big_smile:

I have spent hours online today trying to find what I want and just can't seem to find them. I contacted Carling and they were no help. I would have to order 100 + each of each switch to get them printed. They would not even point me in a direction to find them.:angry:

One thing you could do is make the images in photoshop, print them on paper until you get the size right, then print them on those clear sheets teachers use on overheads in the classroom. If you find icons online for the switches I would be more than happy to make the images for you. Send me a PM or email me @ MCronican at Gmail!

Thanks for the help and offer. I am still trying to find some more information. I have found a list of the Carling legends they offer. I need the labels to be adhesive backed. If I could find the right product to use to print on I would give it a try. If I can find everything I need I may send you a PM. Thanks again.

Thanks very much for the link and suggestion. I will check into that a little more when I get a minute. I know I will have issues with fading on printed labels. The good thing is my boats live indoors when not in use. That will help to slow down the damage from the sun.:big_smile:

The cheap way to try it is to just go to an office store and but a box of clear mailing lables by Avery or someting silimar and they will work on a standard ink-jet printer.

The sad part is I need 12-14 of the Carling contura switches. At a cost of $15-$20+ each I hat not to use the ones I already have. If at all possible I would like to use these switches and just change the faces (the actuators) of each switch at a cost of about $2 each. I will post some pics later of what I have and what i am thinking of going with. Just hate to buy $200 - $300 dollars worth of switches to get what i want. Before i do that i will just go with a couple of Blue Sea Systems switch/ breaker panels. :big_smile: Don't mind spending the money but I don't want to spend it twice for the same thing. Just did not know what i wanted the first time. LOLoooh::smile2::big_smile:

If I just replace the faces to the switches and print the legends I will not feel so bad with myself.
