where does all the little black stuff come from? local mech said it's because of the alcohol in the new gas. Yesterday i had to go thru the carbs for the fourth time, so i replaced all hoses ('92 johnson 40hp) have 2 filters(replaced), flushed the fuel pump, checked the tank. Seems each time i add gas it's time to go thru the carbs again and it's speck fishing time. The carb info was a big help but one question when adjusting the jet is 2 1/4 turns from bottom correct? Engine ran fine on a mile run on the lake.
Thanks again Bob for the info and the BOC for this site.--shu

    I can't remember what carb you've got.

If you counted the turns in, before you took it out, you'd be close.

    I can't even remember what engine you've got.

Sorry I didn't see you posted the engine. Tired today I guess.

When you do carbs, you do a complete fuel system clean out. If you don't, it's alot like pissin' in the wind.
