Been doing some brainstorming on stinky baits for channel cats.
Wondering if anyone has used canned catfood for stink bait? Or Chumming.
I would be curious to know your thoughts or experiences.
I'll let you know after this weekend how it fared for me.

i have never used catfood for bait,but we use it every time to chum for
shad it works great for that.we chum the hole about 15 min before throwing
the cast net,it will also attract other bait fish.give it a try.

i have used skippy dogfood in the cans (the shredded beef kind) and didnt get anything off of it but a friend of mine said how he does it is he pokes several holes in the can and ties a rope to it and then throws the can in the water for a day before he goes fishing to attract em. then he uses it and he catches em for a while! it works but you gotta use a can for chumming or it you will be let down by it . see you thought it was an off the wall idea lmao people use dogfood quite a bit they just have little results unless they take it one step further and chum the area before hand. the only downside is if anybody else is fishing where you threw it out and then they will be catching em instead lol .

I have used walmart brand cat food for cum it pulle din a mess of bluegill and the bass followed them. My bait never had a chance to get to the bottom for the catties. When I would tighten my line it would take off.

Well all i can do is laugh on that one really. the amounts of catfish in the us bodys of water should stay at a good number then.
