Can I Trap Otter In Iowa Legally?

    is it legal to trap otter in iowa? because at the pond where i fish, i see about 3 otter out swimmin and playing. and i have some traps that i can use and i know where their dens are so i am wondering if i can trap em in iowa?

    Tony, one of the first things you need to do, is to get a copy of your State Trapping Regulations & read them. Just because someone tells you it's OK, doesn't mean it is......follow the regulations, not what anyone else tells you. You get busted breaking the laws, you stand the chance to lose all your trapping equipment & trapping rights, not to mention a healthy fine & court costs.

    There are alot of "gray" areas in regulations....that's where you need to know a CO & develop a relationship with him.

    C'mon.....don't ask for advice if you aren't going to listen to it.I keep telling you....... KNOW THE LAWS! :big_smile:
