Hi, We like to fish stocked ponds where they also have tournaments. We're in SWVA, about 20 minutes from Bluefield West Va. Does anyone know of any ponds where you can fish for cats and where they have tournaments in Bluefield or the Tazewell area.
    Thanks for any info.

Sorry I can't help you down that way. I live in between Charleston and Huntington. I know of 3 pay lakes in this area that have tournaments and I fish in river tournaments up this way. I hope you can find something.

I know Lake Shawnee has a catfish tourney, I think every week. They don't allow fishing there outside of tourneys, so the catches are good ones. I know people catfish at Dan Hale Reservoir too, but I'm honestly not sure how good the catfishing is there. They stock Pipestem Lake with tagged cats, but they don't allow night fishing. That's all I can think of right off, I'll let u know if I think of anymore.

Eddie, welcome to the BOC! :0a25:
You might want to ask this question in the Virginia forums as well. I know that we have members from that area, such as Flathead Willie. I'm up quite a way, so Mt. Storm Lake and the rivers around Canaan Valley would be my fishing territory.
