Went to the river Sat. and caught a pile of small shad on the sand bar. I told the two guys that were with me that we were going to try and catch a few skippies off the rock dikes before we started fishing. pulled up to a dike and both buddies started casting jigs. We started catching a few until i threw some of the shad in the water, It was like someone put firecrakers in the water. We ended up with 35 big skippies in bout 15 minutes, before i had to drag the guys away to go fishing. In short I guess you can chum up anything. From now on I'll have shad with me when im looking for skipjack.

You can see them chasing the shad but it seems no one thinks to use shad for bait to catch em..Go figure..
