Does anyone around here hog hunt. If so do you guys know any places in southern california to go, or know any ranchers that have wild hogs on there property that want to get rid of them. I only know one spot. That is vandenberg airforce base, but that is a 4-5 hour drive for me.

Hey Brandt, you hunt? too cool. I always wanted to hunt wild pigs but do not know how to get started; hunting licsense, rifle caliber, etc, etc.

Jaime
Thanks for the info and the offer Brian! I have always wanted to hunt. I am a big fan of hunting shows; my favorite is turkey and wild pig. How much would a license and pig tag cost Brian? How about once you harvest the animal, dressing it or butchering the pig; how much would some thing like that cost? How about for the guide? What do you think of the 30/06 caliber Brian?

Jaime
Thanks again Brian. It is not cheap but it will be worth it.

Thanks Brandt, your are too cool. I will definetely take you up on your offer. For the moment, I am saving to buy a rifle. I am not sure which caliber to buy though. I like the caliber 30/06.
I wonder if sow tastes better than a male pig. I heard they can be dangerous. I heard of stories of pigs charging hunters!

Jaime
Good luck Brandt. Is zone B public land? Never tried deer before, do make deer jerky?
I bought a piece of deer steak from a local butcher; only thing is, I have know idea, how to prepare it9Grill it or bake it season it, etc)

Jaime
