Took my oldest boy out hunting sat evenen in the cold for Mo second youth season. It was brutal on us 20 deg and fallen with the sun goen down. Walken out we had 3 deer blow out out the wood line ahead of us. I popped open the saplen tripod and steadyed it for him. He made a standing supported shot with a 243 single shot youth carbine @ 278 yards up hill on a 20 deg grade. I told him to aim 6 inches high, the doe was hit perfect in the boiler room and dropped after taken 10 steps or so. For a 10 yearold boy that was impressive to me . He was happy he got her. Its his second deer this year. Our house count is 7 deer and we are callen it a year for deer hunting.

Great Read and what memories are made of. The .243 Win is one of my all time favorite cartridges. Of all my centerfire rifles, the .243 is the most accurate. Perfect for men, women, and kids.

Big back slap and congratulations to your son.
