All their stores have a huge "WOW" factor built in. Be careful my friend. You can drop a lot of bucks there. And I'm not talking about deer. But , enjoy your visit.

Im blessed with my location. We have a Bass proshop within 15 miles, and just recently a Cabelas opened up about 8-10 miles the other direciton from my house.

Personally I like bass pro shops better, but Cabelas Aquarium is much better in my opinion.

I went to Cabelas during lunch the other day and followed a guy in who was from somewhere in the northwest and he was on his very first visit. I watched him stop 3 people coming out of the store, asking each how great it was inside and going on and on about how he made a special point of coming to the "original" Cabelas. Didn't have the heart to tell him this one's only been open a couple of years...

Unless you're a very careful shopper, any $40 you can spend on fishing gear at Cabela's would cost you $30 almost anywhere else.

Yes its true, Cabelas and Bass pro for that matter, are higher than say wally world or a local bait shop. But Cabelas and Bass Pro have specialty items that you normally cant buy around here. I found a website that caters to the sale of crappie gear and catfish gear. I just got 2 new Eagle Cat claw rods for less than $48, and I know Bass pro doesnt carry them, and if they did, it would be about $48 a peice. the website is catfishconnection dot com. I dont want to get into trouble advertising for another company, so if a mod get a hold of this, I apologize.

LOL.. Since Catfish Connection is a BOC sponsor, I don't think you have a lot to worry about :cool2:

My wife once commented that if I had the choice I would take a trip to Bass Pro Shops over a trip to the strip club.

    I said, HECK YA!!!!!!!

Why Bass Pro Shops and Cabelas are better than a strip club:

    1) No charge to walk in the door
    2) You dont smell like smoke when you go home
    3) Everyone who works there is NOT "earning money for college"
    4) You get to take home the toys you pay for
    5) You can talk about the trip at church on Sunday
    6) Employees smelling like fish is good thing
    7) When you talk about heavy rod action no one giggles
    8) The lights are bright enough to see what you are looking at
    9) No one asks you for a dance
    10) You can stay until closing and still get up in time to fish!!!

I have been to the location in Michigan several times unfortunately for me my wife now insists that I leave all credit cards, checks etc... at home before going the guys are right you can kinda get sensory overload in there and spend a bunch of money in a hurry before you even realize it, that being said have agreat time going it is truely worth the trip :smile2:
