is there anyone out there that still uses the b.u.d. (big ugly dish)?
I ran over my satellites wire with a lawnmower 5-6 years ago and havent used it since. now im thinkin bout hookin it back up but will be an expense to get new wire for it. even though its a pain to have to go from satellite to satellite to change channels, the picture is better and the programmings cheaper than directv.
question is, will my old reciever still work or has everything gone ku band and 4dtv? and if so, does anyone out there have a 4dtv reciever they would part with cheap?

They still sell a lot of that stuff on ebay. I bought a house a few years ago that had one of those big dishes in the front yard. I took the middle thingy off and the motor thing that made the satellite move back and forth and sold them on ebay, I think I got about $50 each for them.
