Used live, which is the better Flathead bait; Bulegills or Bullheads ? Or does it matter ? -Thanks
IMo Both work good depends on where, how and When your fishing.
Used in river fishing, fished on the bottom.
use both, theyll tell you what one is better:tounge_out::wink: lol
i have used both and they both work fine at certain times of the year. Flatheads will eat either one of them.
Around my neck of the woods, they REALLY like bluegill. Yes, bullhead will catch 'em too, but just not as well as the bluegill(in my opinion). I like to use both of them at about four to six inches in length. Hope this helps.
i have used both but now will only use the bluegill since i dont want to spread the bullheads around
I heard they both work good for bait.
Both Work Good But My Personal Preference Is Bluegills.
Bluegill because you can't hurt the population of the water there'in as easy as bullheads. And bluegill are alot easier to get. But flats bite them the same.
Both are deadly. But I hear that the bullheads tend to on the average have more of the trophy flats hit it.
i would say blue gill hands down...
i think they will hit the bluegill better. when i use bullheads is in a little faster moving water because they seem to stay alive a bit better in the current than bluegill. but in slower water, id use the bluegill.
I have had better luck with bluegill.
i use bluegills mostly, but i have caught some pretty nice cats on small (6-8") bullheads as well as carp.
