A friend and I went to Buckeye Lake this morning ... the saugeye and channels have been hitting pretty good so thought would give it a try. We were bank fishing near the spillway on the north shore ... the air temp was 38 degrees when we got there and the water temp was 47 degrees. I was was a bit suspicious that we would catch anything and I was right .... Nada ... Nothing .... Zilch ... My reasoning was because the barometer was shooting up like the space shuttle ... it was 30.50 .... which is very high .... We tried ... minnows, crawlers and cut shad .... We tried on the bottom clear up to about a foot from the surface and the fish had lock-jaw. We are in the dark of the moon which some think is the best time to fish .... Me, I don't think it makes any difference. We fished for 4 hours and hung it up. ........ Garry-
