I’ve never caught a blue catfish. I’d like to do a self guided trip somewhere this year, perhaps late summer, or even in the fall.
where and when do you guys think I should be looking first to catch some blues and maybe even catch one or two over twenty pounds. Id prefer bank fishing so that I don’t have to drag my boat but if that’s not a realistic option I’d take the boat along.

Thanks!

If you come to Missouri boothill I would be happy to take you I only been out once this year right now river at flood stage
Oddly enough one of the places I was considering is in Missouri. I fished below Truman dam one time many years ago for hybrid stripers. Two things are forever etched in my memory, looking down into the water below the dam and seeing literal tons of carp and catfish at the surface and the tornado sirens going off in the town of Warsaw on the other side of the river. It rained so hard I could hardly even see the water but I fished right through the storm. I figured I was no safer in the truck and the white bass we’re eating every single cast! Beautiful country.

I am having trouble finding someone to go fishing I used to fish alone a lot no problem but I got a bigger boat if wind is blowing it ends up along the bank while parking or getting the truck then have to wrestle with it 20x72 110 hp love the room miss the 17x56
Man if I were closer you wouldn’t have trouble finding someone to fish with for sure. I’d be harassing you to take me. 😂

D, somewhere between Cape and St. Louis would be doable for me sometime. Above Cario would save me having to buy out of state license but it's not that big of a deal. I can back a trailer down a ramp but am not as good or fast as some. I have plenty of frozen Skips and have access to 2-5 inch gills. When the river gets right maybe we can go.
