brand of hooks

    ok guys whats everyones go to brand of hook so to speak i personally like gamakatsu

    i like black and blue 10/0 circles. just cant seem to get ahold of anyone there. to make matters really worse im low on them.

    I am using # 8 eagle claw stainless circles and # 10 claw j hooks I bought in lot cheap ....I use a varitey of tackle its usualey depends on price and timing as to what I am using at tne time....I like them circles but I am a ole schooler and setting that hook is part of the rush .....:wink: have a tendancey to loose a few here anthere old habbits are hard to break(LOL)

    I Use Egale Claw For Kahle Hooks From 5/0-10/0 And I Use Gamakatsu For Circles.

    I use lots of brands,But one I never will use again is SOUTHBEND,the name says it ALL.

    GAMAKATSU 8.0 Octopus circles exclusively! 95% or so hookup ratio on legitimate hits. Haven't had a fish shake one loose since I have been using them. Almost forgot to add, they are VERY rust resistant and remain VERY SHARP, fish after fish.

    For trout and bass I like Gamakatsu. Catfish I like Mustad

    For the money its hard to beat eagle claw lazer sharp.

    I didn't really think the manufacturer made a difference until I got into circle hooks. The attached picture is supposedly a 13/0 circle and a 6/0 circle of unknown manufacturer. the next one is supposedly a Mustad 5/0 circle and the last a 6/0 Eagle Claw. The bend of the Mustad and Eagle Elaw is the same, but the Eagle Claw has a shank abut 3/16 to 1/4 inch larger than the mustad. I sure wish these hook manufacturer's would agree upon a standard for sizes.

    I use Eagle Claw Kahles, alot of different sizes.
    Great hook at a great price.

    gamakatsu circles from 4/0 to 9/0.

    gamakatsu octopus for almost anything else

    i dont really care for the circle hooks much i always try to set the hook so i lose more fish with those lol but i do however really like the octopus hooks for rod and reel but for juglines trotlines or limblines gotta go with the circles

    I use nothing but Gama octopus 10/0 and gama big river 10/0 or 12/0 depending on the bait size.

    I should add that I will be trying the team catfish hooks sometime in the near future. I bought some earlier this year.

    gamakatsu octapus hooks between #5 and #8 is what I like the best.

    gama 8/0 circle octipus all i use, just a little tough gettin it thru a sunnies tail without stickin it in my own finger:eek:oooh:
