i have been fishing for redfish, speckled trout, and flounder a lot lately. been catching a few of them on occasion lol.

i have allways cought a few blue cats here and there while fishing brackish water for reds. i dont mind they put up a great fight. normally if i target cats, i go further north into the upper delta or into the big rivers (alabama-tom bigbee). to me the catfish actually taste better up there.

my question is this: do any of yall fish specifically for cats in brackish water? im not talking about hardheads and gafftops. i am talking about blues-channels-and flatties?

have yall noticed that brackish water cats seem to have more slime? not just a lil more slime but a lot more. i think it is directly related to the water salinity, but i am not sure. also, am i crazy for thinking that they taste better in the swift-fresh water rivers?

    any input will be appreciated.
