Two of my kids & I hit the Wabash today to try a new spot. Fullstringer suggested we try this area so we caught some bait, bought some crawlers, and headed out. We were hoping for more flatheads but the kids got to chase damsel flies, catch a few drum, snag a couple turtles, and nearly land a huge gar. My boy (7 yrs) did catch his very first flathead. He was jumping up & down while reeling once he realized what it was! He was VERY proud of himself!

One more pic I had to post. Yes it's raining...MOSQUITOES!!! I was too cheap to by the $5 can of Skin So Soft bug spray the bait shop had. But, after a half hour of ruthless mosquito attacks I broke down, packed up the kids & headed back to the bait shop.

thats awesome Matt!!!!!! looks like a killer spot man.
Yeah, I does look like a great spot...only wish I could get to the other side of the river where a huge snag was and that big tributary coming in! The grass is always greener on the other side, right!?

I wish I was still out there with this storm moving in. But, EJ & E had been great for 5.5 hours & I hadn't fed them supper yet when we packed up at 9:30pm.

Both of those kids were smiling like they just hit the jackpot. That boy will be hooked for life now. With all the rain we been having, we will be fighting skeeters all summer
