A friend of mine always tears up his reels, and then wants me to fix them. I think his wife is guilty too. Never worked on a baitcaster, so I can only imagine your panic. Glad you got it back together.

Do you have any extra pieces laying around after putting it back together?

I've done that alot of times. It's especially scary when you do it right before your going fishing the next day and cant get it back together.

Yup, that's how my hobby started! I started servicing my own reels with the problems getting them back together, now it's a full blown hobby. I rebuild and restore the old ones, and even build new ones from scratch! Ending up with more than I can use, lol. Be careful, you might get hooked to.

LOL! Been there and done that too several years back. Now I take them to a friend that owns a tackle/bait shop and for $4 he cleans,oils/lubes/greases,checks it completely out and puts my line on.If I buy anything,he sometimes does it for $2 or free.

He caters mainly to the catfisherman and treats catmen the way we should be treated. Also,he gives me good deals...:tounge_out:

Been there done that, cleaned my 3 6500's one time and one baitclicker quit working. Finally figured that one out, only took a little over a year.
