what a turn of events for OU the last couple of days....texas loses and makes the OSU game huge for OU....the sooners step up to the plate and win that bedlam matchup to put OU in the big12 championship game. the sooners will go to a BCS game if they beat nebraska this weekend in kansas.

the theft by the refs in the oregan game looks real big right now

Oklahoma vs. Nebraska should be an exciting game! I will cheer for the Sooners, even though Im a native Nebraskan. Im surrounded by Husker fans everyday, with only a handful of Sooner fans available for moral support. When the Sooners win next weekend, the suicide hotline telephone systems will overload!

I am an OU fan, but don't get upset when they are outplayed and loose the game. Gotta make an exception for Nebraska, especially since their coach made comments about Oklahoman's being hillbillies and then lying about not making a throat cutting gesture which is clearly on film. I mean, gosh, be truthfull. As long as Callahan is their coach, I would hope they never win again.

Phil that has to be the biggest "WORST" call of the year!!:sad2: BCS would look a lot different except for that.Sorry to see any kind of robbery take place whether its your team or not.Remarkable season for a team that suffered the losses OU has, and even though I was TEXAS guy when I lived there the rivalry is a classic in sports and you simply have to give credit where its due.Good luck in the title game.:smile2:

Phil I am back off vacation right now and I was just outside Quapaw Okla. at a casino playing blackjack and watching the game there. That was a good game. I grew up in Del City but I've lived in south texas for 20+ years and now I'm a converted Texas A&M fan. I was still rooting for OU, and will continue to this year.

I definately was glad when A&M beat UT.....

Congrats to the Sooners and good luck to them... They have done a lot with their young team and will definately be a force to be reconed with next year.....

here in oklahoma, the cornhuskers are remembered for some killer games....however...Shane, remember the incident last year with the OU ruf/neks and a nebraska player that headbutted one of them? put the ruf/nek
    in the hospital...knocked him out.

callahan then called oklahomans a bunch of (expletetive deleted) hillbillies....generally speaking, the sooners think callahan is completely unaware of sooner/cornhusker tradition and think he should commit suicide:lol:

No worries TOP, the sooners will deflate the huskers and their no-class coach. If his team feeds off him he's in trouble. I can abide a little trash talking between players during the game, but before or after if a coach has to use curse words he isn't really in control. Look what happened down in Miami. When you lose it it goes bad real quick.

Actually he said that two years ago, but never the less it wasn't pretty for us husker fans either. From a state that claps for the opponent when they leave the stadium (whether they've won/lost,) I'd say we're better then that. Now I can live with a little passion in a game (the infamous choke slash.) Last year there were a couple holding calls that weren't called on OU, one where good old Adrian Peterson took one in for the go ahead score. No calls are part of the game and I can live with that, but sometimes it's nice to see a coach get into the game like Callahan did. Whatever happens this Saturday Nebraska is looking at least to be in the Cotton Bowl. I really hope my Huskers can come out Saturday with a win, and make it into the Fiesta Bowl. Everyone counting them out now a days is due to the fact that they reigned supreme in the mid 90's, and now that they are just a top 25 team people love to rub it in our faces. The same people dogged Oklahoma when they got destroyed by USC for the National Championship, a game which should of probably been Auburn vs. USC. I love College Football in general, my team being the Nebraska Cornhuskers...win or lose.

And just to remind everyone, who was the last team to beat Michigan before Ohio State did? And the Huskers were picked to get destroyed by everyone that had anything to do with college football.

Good luck Sooners, it'll be a great game.

No offense buddy, but Tressel ain't roses. I can remember a voting scandal a few months ago in which his assistant took the fall for. But I can't seem to believe that an assistant would change his head coaches vote without telling him. And to be honest what Callahan has done is nothing compared to what has happened at Miami. Coker lost control of his players, Callahan has a temper yes, but so do a lot of coaches. Look at all the coaches being reprimanded for their comments on officiating (which is really bad this year for some reason.) It's how the game is played. It's how it was when I played 8 man football in high school, and I'm sure it's how it'll be fifty years from now. Good luck in Glendale, you're going to need it whether you believe it or not.

I do like Nebraska, to the point I am willing to share the teams playing in the cottonbowl. It is good for the teams. For the fans, it leaves a lot to be desired. Hint - use the restrooms BEFORE you go to the bowl, and take something soft to set on. lOL oh, a clothes pin for the nose may be a good idea also.

Sorry, but the sooners did not loose to Oregon. Didn't win either. Didn't tie either.... don't know what you call it. Must be a football God out there after all to take care of this team as it did. Glad to see Stoops didn't loose his bonus for making a BCS bowl, and the University didn't loose a lot of money either. Still think I'd sue them though.

I can't help but think that the Sooners would be right in the middle of the national championship picture without the Oregon screwing now. The fiesta bowl is great & I'm extremely proud that they took care of business and overcame all the bad luck that happened this year...... but without getting cornholed by the refs at Oregon, it would be between Michigan, Florida and OU for who got a shot at Ohio State.

For the last few weeks, the Oregon calls has gotten bigger and bigger and bigger, and Bob Stoops has refused to talk about it. What a big big man. Talk about a leader, he's done a fantastic job with this team this year. He's taught them not to whine, but to look ahead to what they could become. I'm proud to be an Oklahoma fan today.

Even without the Oregon mess, OU did not play a tough enough out of conference schedule to have the points to have made any higher in the BCS than they did. and the Big 12 was weak this year also. I'd like to see them play Ohio State, but not to the tune of the last LSU and USC games. Lets just set here for now, hope for a win in January, and maybe the football gods will put the team into consideration next year. And, all you Big 12 fans - don't start ranting and raving like fans from the lesser conferences. LOL
