TN Authorities think 3 people from Dalton died in a boating accident below Nickajack Dam there. They said 5 people were in the boat, but 2 were rescued. They said these people even had their life jackets on, but the water below the dam was too turbulent and swift. Makes you realize how quick things can go wrong on the water, and the need to always be aware and careful and wear your life jacket. I'm sure life jackets saved the 2 peoples lives.

That is terrible. It's easy to underestimate the power of moving water. Now that it's getting cold, hypothermia can also be a killer. Check out this link for tips on cold weather boating safety.

Hate to hear that, but at the same time it is a good reminder to take the extra precautions and have a game plan in the event something does happen.
