Could somebody tell me where some good boat ramps are in the Louisville area? I would like to fish pretty close to the dam.

There are ramps at Coxs Park, But if you want to fish behind the dam you should go to Indana. There is a ramp behind the dam just about a mile down stream of the Falls of the Ohio.

There 2 ramps on the Indina side of the river. 1 in in New Albany slight turn as you are backing down and into shallow water. The other one is in Clarksville steep ramp with navagation hazzards. Depending how much warter is being let thru the dams the current can be vary high.

Can someone tell me which boat ramp would be good to launch at for watching Thunder over Louisville on the water? I would be coming from Lexington and would like to stay on the KY side and away from downtown to launch my boat. Is there a ramp that is not too far from downtown?

BOC members don't let fellow BOC members do Thunder from the water without warning them!

Please consider another location for viewing Thunder unless you have a LARGE boat.

PM for info on all of the ramps, access points and the best areas on the water for anchoring if you are determined to view by boat.

PM if you want to check the areas before you make a decision and I will help you with any questions or even visit the ramps and areas.

E Mail Jeff Spalding (Fish and Wildlife Information Specialist) jeff.spalding@ky.gov. They have publication that was put together this year and list every known boat ramp troughout the state.

He has sent me several of the publications, usually arrive 2-3 days after you contact them.

    Hope this helps.
