I have a 75 hp Mercury on my boat right now. I want to go to a 115 hp motor or something close to that. If I do this would I have to get a new control and throttle cable or could I just hook up the new motor? Also if I get a suzuki or evinrude motor what changes would I have to make?

Don't quote me, but I recall someone telling me that throttle and steering hook-ups were part of the new motor purchase package.
This came from my best friend and we ignore each others' advice equally.
I'd just call a dealer and ask. They might even come with used motors, but that might be unique to a particular dealer.
Private purchase.......depends on how well you deal.
