    I'm a little irritated.

The dealer where I bought my new Xpress boat a few months ago closed up shop last week. The nearest dealer is now about 3 or 4 hours away so if I need warranty service, I'm pretty much screwed. :sad2:

So if you're thinking of buying a new boat, it would seem prudent to get and idea of whether the business is going to be around in 6 months before you purchase...

    Dang, that sucks.

Chances are that someone in the area will take up a dealership. A lot of the boat dealers make sure there are no dealers within a certain range to keep competition down for the same brand, but they don't want too big of a gap because they can loose market share in those areaa quickly.

Probably your biggest chance for a warranty repair will be on the motor, and typically there are several dealers for the majopr brands within your area.
