Blugill Heads!!

    When all else fails.. Just chop a bluegill's head off and this is the result..

    Both were caught on fat ol' bluegill heads...

    I agree - if there's any cutbait that works on flatheads as good as live bait, it is the head if a bluegill. Dont know why, but it's true.

    I use a Carolina Rig pretty much all the time with a 8/0 Gama Circle and I hook the gills thru their botton to upper mouth. This way it gives the hook plenty of space to set it once a flattie has picked it up....

    congrats on the flats those are some good ones how deep was you fishing and were you fishing around structure or logjam? again congrats..

    congrats on the fish the pics look great. Wish I could've done that good this year but no luck still plenty of time left though!:big_smile:

    I love using gill heads.

    Is it just me, or does that flat in the first pick look to have a huge tail?

    Post spawn this year, I have heard of more flatties comming on cut bait than live. Got my new PB Saturday night no a big hunk of shad guts.

    Yes it does seem that post spawn more of the bigger flatties are being caught on cut bait and heads.

    Nice Flats. Blue Gill head is my favorite bait too. I have caught my PB Flat and 90% of my blues on blue gill head
