Bluestone

    Does anyone target the flatheads in the Bluestone I have tried with little success.

    Try in the tailrace at the dam or feeder creeks.

    I have fished the Bluestone for yrs,never ever caught anything worth bragging about.The state DNR never stocks this lake with anything.Now the upper New River is a different story.There is decent fishing up at Crumps Bottom,4H camp,and around in that area.Good luck,you will need it.

    My uncle just caught a 20lb flathead there last night around 11pm.

    We fish at the pier below the dam. Some nights people are pulling flatheads up left and right. I caught a small flathead, bout 14", there last weekend with nightcrawlers. It does tend to get a little crowded there at night tho, so its better to get a spot before nightfall.
