Try in the tailrace at the dam or feeder creeks.
I have fished the Bluestone for yrs, never ever caught anything worth bragging about. The state DNR never stocks this lake with anything. Now the upper New River is a different story. There is decent fishing up at Crumps Bottom,4H camp, and around in that area.Good luck, you will need it.
It is in Summers county southern west virginia.
My uncle just caught a 20lb flathead there last night around 11pm.
We fish at the pier below the dam. Some nights people are pulling flatheads up left and right. I caught a small flathead, bout 14", there last weekend with nightcrawlers. It does tend to get a little crowded there at night tho, so its better to get a spot before nightfall.
