IF YOU TRIM ABOUT A 1/8 INCH OFF THE TAIL OF YOUR GILL BEFORE USING AS BAIT IT SEEMS TO ATTRACT MR WHISKERS FASTER SOME HOW RELEASING AN OILY FLUID AS IT STRUGGLES . I USE A PAIR OF SCISSORS . IT REALLY SEEMS TO WORK .

I cut the dorsal fin off of one and the biggest flat I ever fought nailed it. To bad I had my drag set to tight. lol I don't know why I don't do it more. Just a little should release sent and still keep the gill frisky. Thanks for the reminder.
