No! I wish there was Blue Cats here in Pa.!
No Blues! But here on the eastside of the state, we have the white cats. They are like smaller version of the blues.
are there only flats in PA. I have relatives in Altoona and a couple near by towns. I have only fished at Whipple Dam about 18 yrs or so ago. caught trout and salamanders..
I live in Grand Forks, ND.. fish the Red River (Channel only so I know how you feel on being able to only catch the one species..
have a good time with the biggn's
We've got channel cats, flatheads (in a few areas), madtoms/stonecats and bullheads here in PA.
If your looking for big blues just come on down my way and i will hook you up.
I thought I remember seeing a post about blues in the Delaware river??? Obviously not the section that runs through PA?? I would love to get into some big blues!
No blues in the Delaware:sad2: P.A. or N.J. The Potomac is a beautiful river thats closer than you think and becoming a excellent Blue cat fishery. Like Tim said, take a trip there and let him show you.
You guys looking for blues by the ned of June the spwan will be over and the fishing will pick up again. By late Oct days of 10 to 15 fish over 20 lbs will start back up again. I do a great rate for BOC members and all you need to do it get the Frederick Md I will take you from there.
i just might have to make a trip down to the Potomac this summer!!!
from harrisburg you can be fishing in around 2 hours one trip and you will be able to catch fish here on your own
i'm about 25 mins south of harrisburg, around the york area, i can drive to baltimore in about 45 mins. Where would u suggest putting in at?
I would use the Fort Washington Ramp and set up out around the light house to start the main channel there is 70 to 80 feet with flats on both sides. Watch the tide and most of all watch the wind it can turn the river bad very fast at times. If the wind is much over 15mph it can be unsafe to fish
Here is a pic of a 21lb blue I got on the Potomac while fishing on Tim's boat. And this is just a baby compared to some of the blues caught.
Wow, i'm def gonna have to make it down then this summer. How much would a maryland license cost me? AND, would that cover fishing in the chesapeake too?
You will need a bay sports license and that will cover all of maryland
are they more expensive for non residents???
The non-residents plus 14.00 for the bay license for a year or 6.00 for 5 days
how many rods are u allowed to use in MD???
Those blues do look nice. I have only caught Flatheads and channel catfish here in W. PA
