Could someone tell me the difference between the Abu Garcia blue yonder and the blue cat ?

Only thing I can find so far is the drags, the weight and the price. I think the cat one has a v-spool also, I'm not sure if that's better or how that works.

    thank ya

Jim, the Blue Cat should do everything you want it to unless you're going to be entering any casting competitions anytime soon. I've used my Black Cat (same thing as the blue) a couple of times, and it's very smooth when casting and retrieving.

The major difference is that the Blue Yonder does not have a level wind, you respool the line with your thumb. BY also has dual cast controls and is designed for long distance surf (or catfishing) casting. Doug

The Blue Yonder is built for long distance casting since it has no line guide. I would compare the Blue Yonder more to the Pro Rockets because they both have dual cast controls. The Pro Rockets do have line guides and are also great long distance casting reels. I think the Blue Cat is basically a 6500C3 except for the engraved catfish and the power handle. Fact is any of the above are excellent reels. Good luck.
