I just hope I live to be 73 and can go fishing, whether I catch anything or not. Congratulations to your uncle. That must be some good line he had on,and he must of had his drag set right.

He deserves a fish like that!! but 4 lb test? I snap that stuff setting the hook on trout. thats why I dont use anything less then 8 lb test (that and with 8 lb I can multitask better).

    Kenny,
That story is worth braggin about, a 27 pound carp is not an easy fish to land, especially on 4 pound line. Thats just amazing, i bet the gears are about toast in whatever reel he was using. Ive hooked into some carp of similar size with much larger line and still have had a darn good fight on my hands. Tell him job well done!! rspd507

Thanks a lot for the story. We buried my Uncle Lawrence last week. He was 93 and carp were his favorite fish. He loved to tell the story of "AUNT MARY (his late wife) AND THE BIG CARP". She had hooked a big carp in their pond, and when she saw how big it was, she just slung that pole over her shoulder and ran up the bank until it was flopping on the bank. Needless to say, she wasn;t using 4lb. test.

VERY NICE!! I've caught some carp I thought were big, but 27lbs! WOW!

Having it on 4lb line would have just worried me to death until I put a net around that bad boy. I can't wait to see those pictures
